Weekend Fun
08:16pm 22/03/2009

Krishna
Went home over the weekend and saw some friends. It was good to be there and see my friends. However, I didn't get to see the friends I normally see. I missed seeing them, but I saw some other friends that I haven't seen in YEARS. Overall, it was a good weekend. However, my knee hurts like a bitch. When I'm walking, especially up stairs, I can feel something rubbing together and the back muscle hurts so damn bad. I'm about to get some ice and see if that helps. God I hate hurting. BUT the hockey game kicked much ass, especially the fight at the end of the game. Just hope Jeff got some good pictures.

Soooooo thankful
09:17pm 08/02/2009

Krishna
There are some days where I'm very thankful that I do NOT have children. Today was really one of those days. I had a lot I needed to do (housework & homework) today and could not handle the distractions. Kids are okay, but so not for me. I don't have the patience to deal with the things. I can barely take care of me and Cliff. I can't handle a child on top of us and everything that we do. I'm entirely too selfish to have any children. I want to travel and see the world before I'm old. Everybody I know and went to school with is on facebook/myspace. Most of us are married by now. I was actually one of the later ones to get married. I'm one of the few who still doesn't have kids that I know of. I'm just so happy that I do NOT have children. ick. I'm 29. I can't imagine having a kid right now. I'm still working on my Master's and saving my money to go to Germany next year. There is no way in hell that I can afford to have a child. I'm entirely too selfish to have one. That's the simple fact. I'm way too selfish to have a child. Thank freaking god. At least Cliff agrees with me right now.

Things I've Learned
08:26pm 06/02/2009

Krishna
The past few weeks, I've been questioning a lot about my life. Here are some of the things I've learned:

*It doesn't matter how many friends you've got, it's the quality of the friends you have
*Who care if you're black, red, white, purple, straight, gay, bi. We're all people and deserve to be treated with respect
*Right-Wing Christian Fundamentalists are people too
*I miss regular coke
*I've got friends who are of every creed and it doesn't matter to me
*I'm going to do what's best for me, not everybody else
*True friends are people who stick by you no matter what
*Small minded people aren't just in small towns
*It's okay not to be overly religious
*I like myself the way I am
*I'm getting my education for ME. Not for my job, not my family. It's because I want it

These are a few of the things I've come to really realize the last few weeks. I work with and know people of every shape, color, etc. I'm so sick and tired of people being so narrow minded that it harms the way they look at life. Logically I know that you can't be open-minded about everything but open-mindedness is a good thing. We need more of that. I know that it takes both sets for the world to go 'round. I'm just tired of people belittling everything he/she doesn't understand.

I think Kristofferson summed it up rather well: cause everybody's gotta have somebody to look down on  Who they can feel better than at any time they please Someone doing something dirty decent folks can frown on. Everybody does have to have someone/thing he/she can look down on. That's human nature. I'm just sick and tired of it. *sigh* This has been my life for the last several months. People looking down on everybody  because they're different. I'm sick and tired of it. Personally, I don't care. I try to get along with everybody. I just want everybody to get along dammit!

I had my mouth worked on yesterday and I'm still in pain. I didn't have this much pain when I had my wisdom teeth taken out. Thank god for ice packs huh?

I'm working on my QRI (reading inventory) for my class. My neighbor has been the best. She's letting me use her kid to do this which is nice. This way, I don't have to  call a school, get a kid, etc. I just need to make sure I make her some chocolate chip cookies for letting me do this.

I'm off to bed to sleep some of this stuff off.

I Hurt...
05:49pm 03/02/2009

Krishna
I had 3 cavities filled today and a bone 'spur' cut from my mouth. I'm in pain. I'm waiting on Cliff to wake up to get my pain meds for me. I honestly didn't think I was going to get through the visit. The bone spur hurt so damn much. I had my wisdom teeth taken out about 7 years ago and the bone was coming through the gum. It really hurt. It got infected and the skin grew back over it. Dentist had to cut away the skin to remove the bone. Lovely huh? I'm just hoping that area doesn't get infected like my teeth did.

Germany Trip
06:37pm 02/02/2009

Krishna
So Cliff and I sat down today to figure out how much we're going to need to save to make it to Germany next September/October. We're going to have to save $400 a month. I'm HOPING that we can do it. I want to go to Germany really bad. When we get there, I've got to visit Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, Munich, and Cologne (?). A: I've got to get Hard Rock t-shirts and shot glasses. B. I need pictures. C. I want to see where the wall was. I'm really thinking about how to cut corners to save the $400 a month. I don't know what I'm going to do. Hopefully Cliff will be able to save a bit every month and it'll add up. We're looking at $2700 a person to get there and stay. It'll just be us which will be nice.

I'm sitting here in my house freezing my ass off and really wishing to be back in Italy. Italy was the perfect weather while we were there. It only rained one time. The weather was perfecto. Wasn't too hot, wasn't too cold. *sigh* I want to be back there.

Question.

If any of my European friends can answer this, I'd LOVE it. As Americans, most of us were ready for a change and we got one. Why did the rest of the world follow this election so closely? Did the rest of the world want Obama to win because they think Bush is a putz? Just a few questions :) Thanks!

Inaugration!

Krishna

Inauguration is next Tuesday! Happy dance, Happy dance, Happy dance!!! Na-na-hey-hey-GOODBYE! As we all know, I hated Bush with a passion and wasn't thrilled with McCain. I liked McCain 2000. I HATED McCain 2008. If I hear "We're Mavricks" one more time.... Next Tuesday Obama becomes the new president. I'm very hopeful with the new power. I really am. To be honest here, I voted for Obama because he and Biden scared me the least. I would give ANYTHING to be in DC next week. *sigh* But, I can't afford the tickets. Hopefully something will be piped in through the computer. But, off to do my happy dance agian.

Ciao!

Way too long................
08:43pm 13/01/2009

Krishna
It's been way too long since I've posted a decent blog. I'm sitting here under an electric throw and my cat, Skettie, has fallen in love with this blanket. She keeps going under the blanket for some reason. So, classes have started already. It's going to be a long term this year. My registration got screwed up. I couldn't get my parking permit online and the parking office didn't know why I couldn't do it. Hopefully, it'll be fixed for the Fall semester. *sigh*
I'm taking a reading correction class this semester. It's really hard.I've got to do a reading case study, projects, etc. It's going to be an interesting semester.
I'm finally getting better, thank god. I was sick for about 2 months and thought I was going to die.
I'm getting antsy to go back out of the country. I was talking with one of my class mates today and she's going on a backpacking tour this summer in Europe. I'm envious.
Cliff has American Idol on the telly and it's HORRIBLE! I admit, I love Simon. I think that he's so funny.

Well, I'm off to do some research.
Ciao!

Christmas Presents....
05:49pm 16/12/2008

Krishna

I mailed my friend Mel's Christmas present the first week in December and got an email today telling me that she got it. I just hope that she liked everything that was in there. I know she reads my journal sometimes so I'm not going to say what I got her in case she hasn't opened the present yet. I did put somethings in there for her family and cat though ^_^ I also mailed my friend Annie's present the first Friday in December and so far, I haven't gotten anything saying she got it. Her present had to go to Australia though. I love sending presents, but I hate buying them. I'm always afraid that people won't like the presents I get them. I suck at buying presents for people. I search for the 'perfect' gift for everybody but feel like I don't really get the perfect thing. Christmas is going to be really slim around my house this year. We just don't have the money to do what we've done in previous years. I hate being poor. But I really hope everybody likes the Christmas presents I picked out for them. Each present was hand picked with each person in mind. Going to bed now. Been sick and still sick. Bleh.

Ciao

Let Me Die
06:19pm 15/12/2008

Krishna
I was sick week before last and FINALLY started feeling better last week. My parents came down on Friday and my dad was sick. I told them not to come down if he was sick but they came down anyway. This was mistake number one. Friday evening, we were all hungry so we went out to eat. We drove in the same car. Mistake number 2. Steve kept hacking away in the back. Guess who's sick now. I just feel like dying and I've got so much to do. We've got friends coming over Sunday and I've got to get the house steamed before they get here and the office organised. Bleh

Cliff and I are cleaning house since Steve and Kim are coming down on Friday. Oh, that reminds me. I need to call and see if they need directions. Anyway, we're cleaning house and deep cleaning at that. We cleaned out the office and need to get rid of about 100 books. I think I'm going to take them to the goodwill and just donate the damn things. Grandma keeps sending Romance books down here and I don't read them. I've offered my friend Chell first dibs on the books. I've just got so many books. Steve and Kim are coming down on Friday and I'm still deciding on what to make. Do I want to make pot roast or beef stew. I can't decide. I think I may go with pot roast. It's a lot easier and I don't have to cook as much to feed 6 people. Well, I've got my little pot of veggies. Off to clean kitchen.
